1/4 of India's Lok Sobha (lower house of parliament) members have been convicted at one time or another of rape, murder or other crimes. Luckily the Uttar Pradesh elections are over, only one politician is dead, and my sources are telling me that UP has established itself as "Stable" environment for investors.

Ackman's Hong Kong Dollar Trade - Where are we today?

So back on Sept 15 2011 Ackman gave a presentation outlining his thesis on the future of the Hong Kong Dollar entertaining a couple of different scenarios but overall arguing that Hong Kong was a perfect economy aside from the inflation caused in large part by the peg to the U.S. dollar. Morgan Stanley Responded last week in their Global Economic Forum, and Ackman did not mention last week on CNBC more below.

Xi Jinping - "What up Kobe?"

Xi Jinping visited the United States this week on a trip that spanned Washington D.C., Iowa, and Los Angeles. Among other things, the anticipated president of China in the March of 2013, inked a mega 4.35 Billion dollar  soy bean and apparently told LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa that he is a big fan of Kobe Bryant.

Tablet Breakdown

So IHS released its quarterly market sharereport for the Tablet space today which gave some surprises. Most notably, Amazon has surpassed Samsung in market share of the tablet space (hardware makers just can't get a break(we all know the price goes to zero eventually)). According to the report, Amazon shipped 3.89  million tablets in the quarter to capture 14% of the overall tablet market in Q42010. Another shocker was the belief that the late release of the iPhone 4s could have cannabalized iPad sales.
